Privacy Policy
Your trust matters. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — in plain language.
Last updated:
Educational guidance only. No guaranteed score increase, deletion, or approval. Consumers can dispute inaccurate information themselves at no charge. Results vary.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide educational credit guidance and to contact you:
- Contact details you provide in our quiz or booking form — first and last name, email address, and phone number (optional).
- Quiz answers about your credit goals, challenges, timeline, and preferences. We never ask for your Social Security number, date of birth, full account numbers, or passwords in the quiz.
- Credit report data — only if you separately choose to upload it through our secure, authenticated portal after giving affirmative consent. We never accept reports by public form, SMS, or email.
- Marketing consent — separate, unchecked opt-in for SMS marketing messages.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Send your educational roadmap and follow-up resources.
- Schedule and conduct your free credit audit by phone or Zoom.
- Provide educational guidance about your credit report and possible inaccuracies.
- Send appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Send marketing messages by SMS only if you have given separate, affirmative consent.
- Improve our educational content and services.
Sensitive credit report data
Credit reports may contain sensitive financial information. We only process this data when you upload it through our secure, authenticated portal and give separate affirmative consent. Before processing, we disclose the purpose, how long we retain it, and any third-party processors involved.
When you upload a report, we take reasonable steps to protect it: malware scanning, encryption, access controls, and minimization or redaction of sensitive identifiers. We do not assert that an item is an error based solely on an automated prediction — potential issues are flagged for human review.
Information sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with service providers who help us operate (such as scheduling, email delivery, and analytics) under appropriate confidentiality obligations, and as required by law. Credit Hero is a separate third-party subscription service; your Credit Hero account and credentials stay with you — we never ask for your username or password.
Data retention
We retain your information only as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. Uploaded credit reports are deleted on a published retention schedule or when you request deletion or withdraw consent. You can request deletion at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Opt out of marketing emails by clicking unsubscribe in any email.
- Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any message.
- Decline to upload a credit report and still book your free audit.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
- Withdraw consent for processing your credit report at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or federal law. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take your privacy seriously and use encryption and access controls for sensitive data.
Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
